Start the System Software Updater'. The current version number and updated version number appear on the lower left side of the screen. After confirming that the current software version is 'Ver. 3.20 or earlier', click Next. If the current system software version is 3.21 or later, the update.

From the Apple menu  in the corner of your screen, choose About This Mac. You should see the macOS name, such as macOS Mojave, followed by its version number. If you need to know the build number as well, click the version number to see it.
